Hedge Control
Are your hedges constantly needing pruning to keep them neat and under control?
Our hedge growth control service is designed for selected, established hedges that have already reached their desired size. The treatment helps slow new shoot growth, allowing hedges to stay tidier, more uniform and easier to maintain for longer.
This can reduce the frequency of pruning, green waste and the ongoing time required to maintain your hedges. Results can vary depending on the hedge species, plant health, watering and site conditions.
Is Your Hedge Suitable?
This service is not suitable for every hedge. Before treatment, we assess whether your hedge is compatible and in suitable condition.
To be eligible, hedges must generally:
-
Be an approved hedge species
-
Have already reached their desired height, width and density
-
Be healthy, established and not under stress
-
Not be newly planted or recently transplanted
-
Be between 30 cm and 2 m in height
-
Be able to remain unpruned for at least four to six weeks after treatment
Treatable Hedge Species
-
Golden Duranta (Duranta repens)
-
Small-leaf Photinia (Photinia glabra)
-
Lilly Pilly (Syzygium australe and Syzygium smithii)
-
Mock Orange (Murraya paniculata)
How It Works
Start by requesting your free onsite hedge assessment.
We will inspect your hedge species, size, health and suitability for growth control before providing a clear treatment recommendation and pricing.
Once approved, we will schedule the treatment at the appropriate time of year. Treatments are generally applied from late winter to early spring, when the hedge is beginning its new season of growth.
After the treatment, we will provide practical care recommendations to help support the best possible result.
